Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen at North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust for a well-motivated Clerical Assistant. The duties are quite varied: taking telephone calls, greeting patients at Reception, booking appointments, inputting data into the Audiology patient management system and performing simple hearing aid repairs. The post holder will be based at Warrington Hospital. We are looking for a strong team player, with excellent communication and organisational skills. Experience of working within an NHS/Clinical environment and an understanding of Audiology, in assessing and treating hearing loss is desirable. To provide reception services and undertake a range of administrative and clerical duties, associated with Audiology clinics. The role involves handling information which is confidential and therefore the post holder must maintain strict confidentiality at all times. - Provide a full reception service for Audiology patients, (including welfare of ambulance patients), attending clinics.
- Maintain a professional front-of-house service for all visitors to the department.
- Responsibility for the arranging of appointments for the whole Audiology department, either by: telephone request, at Audiology reception or by written medical personnel request.
- Clerical duties associated with clinic organisation, including: photocopying, filing and faxing.
- Maintenance of stationery stock and assists with general Audiology stock control.
- Organise and action the distribution of hearing aid batteries to community GP practices and clinics. Keeping written record of batteries sent.
- Organise postal repairs, with prompt return to patients and keeping written record.
- Sort incoming post and distribute to Audiology staff.
- Receive and deal with patient enquiries, ensuring that they are handled sensitively and promptly.
- To undertake any other appropriate duties, as may be delegated from time to time by the office manager.
- Prepare and collate patient notes and ear moulds required by Audiologists undertaking clinics.
- Basic repair/replacement of patient's hearing aids.
