AAT Accounts Assistant

We are currently supporting a well-established business based in Bridgend who are looking to recruit an AAT Accounts Assistant to join their friendly and supportive finance team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT-qualified or AAT-studying finance professional looking to develop their career within a busy and varied accounts environment.

Location: Bridgend
Salary: £26,000-£28,000
Working pattern: hybrid working
Parking: Free on-site parking

The Role

Working as part of the finance team, you will provide support across a range of accounting duties, helping to ensure the smooth and accurate running of the day-to-day finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing purchase and sales invoices
• Managing the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Reconciling supplier and customer accounts
• Processing employee expenses
• Assisting with supplier payment runs
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers
• Supporting bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assisting with month-end procedures
• Responding to supplier and customer queries
• Providing general support to the wider finance team
• Ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

• AAT qualification or is currently studying towards AAT
• Previous experience within an accounts or finance role
• Good knowledge of purchase and sales ledger processes
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• The ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively
• Good Excel and general IT skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn and develop
