Protocol Education is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant with some British Sign Language (BSL) experience to join our dedicated Hearing Impaired Team .

This is a unique and rewarding role supporting children and young people with hearing impairments across Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Post-16 settings . No two days are the same, as you'll travel between different educational provisions, helping pupils access learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential.

The Role

As part of our specialist Hearing Impaired Team, you will:

• Support pupils with hearing impairments in a variety of classroom settings.
• Use your BSL skills and communication strategies to promote inclusion and engagement.
• Work closely with Teachers of the Deaf, class teachers and SEN professionals.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual communication needs.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interactions.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, families and school staff.
• Travel between schools and provisions, providing support where it is needed most.

What We're Looking For

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Some experience or knowledge of British Sign Language (BSL).
• Experience working with children or young people, ideally within education or SEND.
• A caring, patient and flexible approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle , as travel between multiple school settings is an essential part of the role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
