A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Art, DT & Food Technician to join a high-achieving secondary academy in Hackney.

This Art, DT & Food Technician role would suit somebody who enjoys working in a busy school environment, supporting practical lessons and ensuring Art, Design Technology and Food Technology departments are fully prepared for learning every day.

ABOUT THE ART, DT & FOOD TECHNICIAN ROLE

The successful Art, DT & Food Technician will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students across the Art, DT and Food Technology departments.

Duties include:

• Preparing classrooms, workshops and kitchens for practical lessons
• Setting up equipment, tools and teaching resources
• Maintaining stock levels and ordering materials when required
• Supporting teachers and students during practical lessons
• Cleaning, maintaining and organising equipment and workspaces
• Ensuring workshops and kitchens meet health and safety standards
• Managing specialist tools, machinery and food preparation resources
• Assisting with displays and exhibitions of students' work

THE SUCCESSFUL ART, DT & FOOD TECHNICIAN WILL HAVE:

• Experience working as an Art, DT & Food Technician or in a similar school-based role
• Ideally, experience working within a secondary school
• The ability to work effectively alongside teachers and students
• Good organisational and communication skills
• A reliable, proactive and practical approach
• The ability to commit to a full-time role from 2nd September
• The ability to travel to Hackney on a daily basis
