Warders Medical Centre is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic General Practitioner (5 sessions per week) to join our thriving and expanding multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job
Manage and respond to a wide range of health needs within a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.

The post-holder will:

• Provide comprehensive general practice consultations to patients.
• Undertake physical examinations, where appropriate, to assist in the diagnosis, prevention, and management of disease and injury.
• Assess, investigate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with acute and chronic health conditions.
• Develop and implement appropriate treatment and management plans in collaboration with patients and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate, contemporaneous, and complete clinical records in accordance with professional and organisational standards.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of patient services and clinical outcomes.

Job responsibilities
The post-holder will:

• Provide high-quality, patient-centred care to registered and temporary patients.
• Undertake consultations within surgery sessions and, where appropriate, conduct physical examinations.
• Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients presenting with acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans in accordance with evidence-based practice.
• Prescribe safely and effectively in line with local and national guidance.
• Maintain accurate, contemporaneous, and legally compliant clinical records.
• Make appropriate referrals to secondary care and community services.
• Contribute to the management of long-term conditions and preventative healthcare programmes.
• Participate in the practice duty doctor rota.
• Respond to clinical correspondence, pathology results, and other tasks as required.
• Promote health education and disease prevention to patients.

Professional Responsibilities

• Work in accordance with the GMC's Good Medical Practice guidance.
• Maintain professional registration, appraisal, and revalidation requirements.
• Keep professional knowledge and skills up to date through continuing professional development.
• Recognise and work within the limits of their competence.
• Take responsibility for identifying and managing clinical risk.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety activities.
• Participate in practice audits and service development initiatives.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with data protection requirements.

Special Interests
We welcome applications from GPs with specialist clinical interests. Where possible, we will support the development and utilisation of additional skills that complement existing services and benefit our patient population.

Qualifications
Essential

• GMC registration with licence to practise.
• Included on the NHS England Performers List or eligible for inclusion
• MRCGP qualification or equivalent
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to high-quality patient care
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Understanding of clinical governance and quality improvement

Desirable

• Experience working in UK General Practice.
• Interest in teaching, training, or mentoring.
• Additional clinical skills or specialist interests.
• Experience of clinical audits and service development initiatives
