Head of PE - Outstanding School in Cheshire - April Start
An outstanding secondary school in Cheshire is seeking an ambitious and inspiring Head of PE to lead its successful Physical Education department from April.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity within a school known for its strong academic standards, excellent behaviour, and a vibrant sporting culture where students are encouraged to participate and excel.
About the role
The successful candidate will lead the PE department while delivering engaging lessons and promoting a strong culture of sport and physical wellbeing across the school.
The role will involve:
Leading and developing the Physical Education department
Teaching PE across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 depending on experience
Organising and developing extracurricular sports programmes and school teams
Driving high standards of teaching, learning, and student participation
Supporting and mentoring members of the PE department
Promoting health, fitness, and teamwork across the school community
You will play a key role in developing the sporting profile of the school and encouraging student participation in a wide range of activities.

The ideal candidate
Qualified Teacher with QTS or equivalent
Strong subject knowledge in Physical Education
Experience teaching PE across KS3 and KS4
Leadership experience or readiness to lead a department
Passion for sport, physical wellbeing, and student development
