About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Assembly Operative to join an innovative advanced manufacturing organisation based in Oxfordshire.

The company specialises in the development and manufacture of high-value technology products for specialist industries, operating within a precision-controlled manufacturing environment.

This role is ideal for someone looking to develop a long-term career within advanced manufacturing. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates with a technical mindset and a willingness to learn. Previous experience within manufacturing, production, assembly, or a technical environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

The successful candidate will play a key role within the production team, supporting manufacturing operations, product assembly, inspection, testing, and quality control activities while helping to maintain high standards of efficiency and product quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor specialist production equipment in line with company procedures and work instructions.
  • Support day-to-day manufacturing activities within a controlled production environment.
  • Carry out product inspections, testing, and quality checks using appropriate measurement techniques.
  • Complete product assembly, preparation, and packaging tasks to required standards.
  • Maintain production targets while ensuring quality and accuracy are achieved.
  • Follow cleanroom procedures, health & safety guidelines, and operational processes.
  • Accurately complete production records, documentation, and quality reports.
  • Monitor equipment performance and escalate any issues where required.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and process optimisation activities.
  • Assist with internal quality checks, audits, and compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to achieve operational goals.

Essential Skills & Attributes

  • Previous experience within manufacturing, production, assembly, or a technical environment is desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on quality.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Reliable, organised, and able to take ownership of tasks.
  • Comfortable working within a structured production environment and completing repetitive processes.
  • Adaptable approach with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete digital records.
  • An interest in technology, engineering, manufacturing, or scientific industries.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Science, or related subjects are desirable.
  • Any technical, engineering, manufacturing, or vocational qualifications would be beneficial but are not essential.
