Phonics Intervention Leader
Temporary
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Phonics Intervention Leader to join our team, playing a key role in supporting students to develop essential literacy skills and achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff, the SENCo, senior leaders and external professionals to provide targeted, effective support for students requiring phonics and literacy intervention. You will plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality intervention programmes, including small group and one-to-one support, ensuring that all students make strong progress. You will be responsible for monitoring and assessing student progress, using data to inform your work and adapt interventions accordingly. Alongside this, you will contribute to the development of early reading and phonics across the wider curriculum, supporting a consistent and high-quality approach to literacy throughout the school. This role also involves promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment, supporting students’ wellbeing, engagement and behaviour, and working collaboratively with parents and carers to help reinforce learning beyond the classroom. You will play an active role in school life, attending meetings, contributing to professional development, and supporting wider school activities where required. As a Phonics Intervention Leader, you will model strong practice in phonics and literacy, support colleagues where appropriate, and contribute to the school’s ongoing improvement priorities. You will uphold the values and ethos of the Trust, maintaining high professional standards, safeguarding responsibilities, and ensuring confidentiality at all times. We are looking for someone who is committed to inclusion and equality of opportunity, demonstrates excellent teamwork and communication skills, and is eager to continue developing their expertise in phonics and student support.
