A high-achieving and forward-thinking 11–18 school in West Sussex is seeking a passionate and dynamic Psychology and Sociology Teacher to join their thriving Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty from January 2026. About the Role
The appointed teacher will deliver Psychology and Sociology across KS4 and KS5 , helping students develop analytical, evaluative, and critical thinking skills while encouraging them to engage with current issues and social debates. Lessons will integrate research methods, contemporary case studies, and real-world applications, preparing students for success in examinations and higher education.
You will join a collaborative and supportive department that values creativity, academic rigour, and reflective teaching. The faculty promotes cross-curricular enrichment, often partnering with departments such as English, Philosophy, and Politics to broaden student perspectives.
In addition to classroom teaching, the successful candidate will:
• Lead discussions, debates, and project work on current social issues
• Support students preparing for university applications in social sciences and psychology
• Contribute to Sixth Form enrichment, including guest lectures and academic societies
• Participate in curriculum development and assessment innovation
• Play a key role in the school’s mentoring and pastoral system

Experience and Qualifications
• QTS/PGCE and degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related subject
• Experience teaching A-Level or GCSE Psychology/Sociology desirable

• Commitment to fostering curiosity, empathy, and critical awareness in learners
