Are you an experienced educational supporter with a strong knack for boosting core academic skills? Academics is looking for an enthusiastic and versatile Teaching Assistant to work across primary classrooms in Chester, taking a key role in raising attainment in core subjects.
"Targeted intervention is where true academic confidence begins — helping children overcome learning hurdles in maths and literacy creates lifelong momentum."
In this general classroom role, you will balance whole-class support with structured intervention groups. It is an outstanding opportunity for someone who enjoys varied daily responsibilities and wants to sharpen their practical skills in education and training. Working through Academics offers you consistent local placements, highly competitive rates of £95 – £105 per day, and a supportive environment to thrive in.
Key Responsibilities
As a dedicated Teaching Assistant, you will support both the class teacher and pupils to achieve core learning goals:
* Targeted Interventions: Lead small-group and 1:1 booster sessions focusing on key maths concepts, phonics, reading comprehension, and writing skills.
* Classroom Management: Assist the teacher with daily lesson delivery, task preparation, and creating an organized learning atmosphere in Chester.
* Differentiated Support: Adapt resources to help lower-attaining pupils grasp key concepts while challenging higher-ability learners.
* Progress Tracking: Provide feedback on pupil engagement and achievement to help inform future lesson planning in Chester schools.
Candidate Profile
* Demonstrable experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
* Proven confidence in delivering structured interventions in primary maths and English/literacy.
* A proactive commitment to continuous self-improvement and ongoing education and training.
* An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to process one through Academics).
