Religious Studies ECT - High-Achieving School in York
Our Client is looking for a Religious Studies ECT to work within a high-performing mixed secondary school based in York. This is a full-time position starting January 2026.
- Religious Studies ECT required to work on a full-time basis

- Excellent support and mentoring for new teachers
The successful Religious Studies ECT will teach across KS3 and KS4, joining a department that values open discussion and diverse perspectives.
Experience and Qualifications
• Religious Studies ECT
• Be motivated, reflective and confident in delivering engaging lessons
• A formal teaching qualification with QTS (i.e. PGCE)
• Legal ability to work within the UK
School Information
This is an oversubscribed 11–18 mixed school with approximately 1,300 students and a reputation for strong academic results. In 2024, 93% achieved grades 9–4 in English and Maths, with RS achieving 89%. The school has modern humanities classrooms, an inclusive curriculum and a well-resourced sixth form.
Teachers describe the school as welcoming and forward-thinking. The leadership team is committed to guiding ECTs with structured mentoring, observation cycles and regular opportunities for reflection.
