Senior Development Officer

We are currently looking a Senior Building Inspector (ideally Class 2A-F) to join our team. We operate in a highly competitive marketplace, providing a high-quality service to both the businesses and communities of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The Role

The current opportunity is primarily based in our site inspection team. Each of our inspection areas is provided with a dedicated pool car.

Whilst the formal location/work-base for this role is our Bodmin or Pool office, the Building Control team are mainly home based. We also have office bases across Cornwall.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • Keen, customer focused candidates with proven experience of working in a high-quality Building Control environment. You will have demonstrable wide-ranging knowledge and understanding of the legislation and technical documents underpinning the Building Regulations, be proficient in effectively managing and prioritising workloads in pressurised situations and have excellent customer focus and negotiation skills.
  • You will be able to contribute effectively to the productivity of the service and undertake work independently in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Ideally you will be qualified with a relevant degree and be a full member of a relevant professional body - i.e. RICS, CABE, or CIOB.
  • You should ideally be at least a Class 2A-F Registered Building Inspector, but we would also consider candidates who are registered at Class 2A RBI.
