Flexible 1:1 SEND Intervention Worker
Part-Time & Flexible Hours | Plymouth, Devon & CornwallPay Rate: £19.50 per hour We are seeking dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEND Intervention Workers to join our growing team across Plymouth, Devon, and Cornwall. This flexible, rewarding opportunity is ideal for professionals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and making a meaningful difference in their educational and personal development. As a Flexible 1:1 SEND Intervention Worker, you will provide personalised, one-to-one support to learners with additional needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and emotionally. Working closely with teaching staff, SEND Coordinators, families, and wider professionals, you will deliver tailored intervention support designed around each learner's individual strengths, needs, and goals. This position offers flexible, part-time hours, with support typically delivered between 2-12 hours per week per learner, alongside opportunities for additional hours where available. You will:
- Provide personalised 1:1 SEND support tailored to each learner's individual needs
- Work collaboratively with SEND professionals and education staff to implement effective intervention strategies
- Support students to engage with learning, develop confidence, and improve emotional wellbeing
- Adapt teaching approaches and intervention methods to suit a variety of learning profiles and additional needs
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of interventions and learner development
- Build positive, professional relationships with students, families, and wider support networks
- Participate in relevant training, team meetings, and professional development opportunities
- Follow safeguarding procedures, policies, and best practices at all times to ensure learner safety and wellbeing We are looking for compassionate, adaptable, and motivated individuals who:
- Have experience working with children or young people with SEND, or within a care, education, or intervention-based role
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of additional needs and inclusive support approaches
- Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Are highly organised and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with wider teams
- Are confident adapting support strategies to meet individual learner needs
- Are committed to professional development and continuous learning
- Have experience using technology and digital systems for communication and record-keeping (desirable) A relevant qualification in education, special educational needs, childcare, social care, or a related field is advantageous.
