The Credit Controller will be liaising with internal teams and external customers to ensure invoices are paid on time and the finance team as a whole functions effectively.

Amongst other tasks, you will be responsible for:
As a Credit Controller, you will play an important role in managing customer accounts, ensuring appropriate credit is available and supporting customers to keep their monthly accounts up to date. You will build positive relationships with customers through regular communication, so strong written and verbal communication skills, a diplomatic approach and the confidence to handle challenging conversations with professionalism and sensitivity will be key.
· Daily chasing on your assigned ledger.
· Closely monitoring debtor account balances and ensuring our Debtor Sales Outstanding (DSO) metric is always within acceptable limits
· Processing new account applications, including conducting credit checks and allocating appropriate credit limits to accounts when required
· Reconciling accounts
· Posting cash to accounts on a daily basis
· Sending reminder letters and statements on a weekly basis
· Dealing with queries and resolving issues as they arise in a timely manner.
· Dealing with finance related tickets, answering calls and taking customer payments as well as other credit control-related administrative duties.
· Administrative support within the Credit Control team, at times this may also include supporting the wider Finance function.
Key Skills
- Strong attention to detail when managing customer accounts and financial records
- Confident communicating with customers by phone and in writing, including when discussing outstanding payments
- Good understanding of credit control processes, including credit limits, account management and debt collection
- Strong numeracy skills and confidence working with financial information
- Able to prioritise workload, manage multiple accounts and meet payment deadlines
- A professional and diplomatic approach when handling payment queries and challenging conversations
- Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve account discrepancies
- Comfortable working independently while also contributing positively to a team
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn finance systems such as Epicor and Xero
