CNC Setter Operator Location: Tewkesbury Hours: Permanent Day Shift or Permanent Twilight Shift Salary: Negotiable DOE CNC Setter Operator We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Setter Operator to join an established precision engineering and advanced manufacturing business based in Tewkesbury. The company specialises in the manufacture of high-precision components and assemblies for demanding industrial applications, working to tight tolerances and exacting quality standards. As a CNC Setter Operator, you will be responsible for setting and operating multi-axis CNC machinery, producing high-quality precision components from engineering drawings. The role would suit an experienced machinist who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work and is looking for a long-term opportunity within a specialist manufacturing environment. There are permanent opportunities available on both day and twilight shifts. Key Responsibilities of a CNC Setter Operator

• Set, operate and run multi-axis CNC machines using Mazatrol Smooth and Fanuc control systems.
• Manufacture high-precision components to supplied engineering drawings, ensuring all work meets strict quality standards and tolerances.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, geometrical tolerances, surface finishes and relevant engineering standards.
• Prove out new jobs and complete first-off inspections to ensure components meet specification.
• Carry out in-process and stage inspections throughout production.
• Produce components accurately to the dimensions and tolerances specified on engineering drawings.
• Organise and prepare materials, tooling and equipment required for each job.
• Use precision measuring equipment to inspect completed and in-process components.
• Work closely with management and Production Engineers to maximise machine efficiency and productivity.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment in line with company health and safety procedures.

Key Skills & Experience of a CNC Setter Operator

• Previous experience working as a CNC Setter Operator within a precision engineering or advanced manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience setting and operating multi-axis CNC machinery.
• Experience using Mazatrol control systems, with Mazatrol Smooth experience highly desirable.
• Experience with Fanuc controls.
• Experience working with multi-spindle or sliding head CNC machinery, ideally Mazak or Star machines.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
• Experience manufacturing precision components to tight tolerances.
• Competent using a range of precision measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Able to work effectively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment and meet production deadlines.
• Reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment.
