Analyst - Grade 1 - Organics
ALS Laboratories is seeking a Laboratory Analyst Grade 1 to join the Organics department at our Coventry laboratory. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a busy and supportive team, playing a key role in the testing of samples to ensure accurate, reliable results are delivered in line with company procedures and performance targets.
We are looking for someone with a careful, methodical approach, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work proactively as part of a fast-paced laboratory environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for following established procedures, carrying out sample testing effectively and accurately, and recording results to a high standard.
This role is an excellent entry point for anyone looking to start a career in Environmental Science, particularly within the field of organic analysis.

The Day to Day
Understand customer requirements.
Ensure samples are completed efficiently and effectively following all process, procedures, and legislation.
Deliver on key performance indicators.
Report and understand analytical data.
Participate in the Taste and Odour panel on a rotational basis following screening.
Assist team members to achieve work objectives.
Proactively ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures
The Essentials
Qualifications required are 5 GCSEs at Grade C (equivalent to new Grade 4) or above to include Science, Maths and English and an A level or equivalent in scientific subject.
Ability to follow instructions and procedures, with a willingness to learn.
Client focused approach with a solution oriented mindset.
Excellent communication skills
Computer literate
Ability to plan and organise own work area.
