Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Maths department, ensuring alignment with the school's overall vision for academic excellence.
• Oversee the planning, delivery, and assessment of a comprehensive and engaging Maths curriculum across all year groups (potentially including Pre-Prep, Prep, Seniors, and Sixth Form).
• Lead a team of dedicated Maths teachers, providing ongoing coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
• Foster a stimulating learning environment that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a passion for exploration in Mathematics.
• Contribute significantly to curriculum development, ensuring it aligns with national standards and best practices in Mathematics education.
• Play a key role in the recruitment, selection, and performance management of Maths teachers.
• Actively participate in the wider school community, collaborating with colleagues across different departments.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A qualified teacher with QTS and a strong specialism in Mathematics (Leadership experience preferred).
• A minimum of 5 years' successful teaching experience in a secondary or independent school setting, with demonstrably strong leadership qualities.
• Excellent subject knowledge and a proven track record of raising standards in Mathematics.
• Strong strategic vision and the ability to translate this vision into a successful departmental plan.
• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
