Academics are currently working with a highly regarded specialist school in Watford to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher for a permanent position starting in September.
This opportunity would suit either an experienced SEN Teacher or a Primary-trained Teacher looking to transition into specialist education. The school supports pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), speech, language and communication needs, and associated social, emotional and behavioural needs.
Working within a supportive and well-resourced environment, you will deliver engaging, personalised learning experiences that enable every pupil to achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
* Create a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment.
* Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists and other multi-disciplinary professionals.
* Monitor and assess pupil progress against EHCP outcomes and individual learning targets.
* Support pupils' communication, independence and emotional development.
* Build positive relationships with families, carers and external agencies.
What We're Looking For
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Experience teaching within a Primary, SEND or specialist school setting is desirable.
* A good understanding of autism and complex learning needs.
* Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
* A patient, creative and adaptable approach to teaching.
* A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
