An exciting opportunity has now arisen within the Bridgnorth Agency.
About the role:
We’re looking for a driven and personable individual to join our Bridgnorth agency in a Commercial Insurance role with a strong focus on new business development.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys getting out into the local community, building relationships and spotting opportunities to grow a portfolio. You’ll focus on developing new commercial business, working with local trades, SMEs and rural businesses—really getting to understand their needs and providing tailored insurance solutions.
A key part of the role will be proactively identifying and generating new leads, networking and building connections across Bridgnorth and the surrounding area. You’ll take a hands-on approach to developing relationships, meeting clients, and converting opportunities into long-term customers.
Alongside this, you’ll still provide a high level of service throughout the sales journey—from initial conversations through to quotation and onboarding—ensuring every customer experience reflects NFU Mutual’s trusted reputation.
This is a varied, outward-facing role that would suit someone who is motivated by building a pipeline, developing business opportunities and making a real impact within a local, community-focused agency.
About you
We’re looking for someone who is confident, outgoing and motivated by building relationships and winning new business. You’ll enjoy being out in the local community, meeting people and turning opportunities into long-term clients.
You’ll be a natural communicator, comfortable starting conversations, building trust and promoting the value of NFU Mutual’s products and service. With a proactive mindset, you’ll take ownership of generating leads, developing a pipeline and converting opportunities into results.
Essential:
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage new prospects
• A proactive, self-motivated approach with a drive to succeed in a sales-focused role
• Comfortable working towards targets and generating new business opportunities
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Well organised with the ability to manage your own workload and priorities
• A customer-focused mindset with the ability to understand client needs and recommend suitable solutions
Desirable:
• Previous experience in a sales, business development or customer-facing role
• Experience working with local businesses or within commercial insurance / financial services
• Confidence using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint in a professional environment
• Existing connections within the local area or experience networking
• Progress towards, or willingness to work towards, a relevant professional qualification such as the Certificate in Insurance (Cert CII)
