Carpenter

Do you measure twice and cut once , taking pride in getting things right first time? Can you handle everything from first fix frameworks to second fix finishes without losing your edge ? And when a job gets tricky, do you still manage to finish it spot on ?

We’re looking for a skilled and customer-focused Carpenter to join our Repairs & Voids team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining and improving our homes, ensuring our properties become home to our tenants and allow them to thrive.

Working across our housing portfolio, you’ll carry out a wide range of carpentry and property maintenance tasks, supporting colleagues across different trades when needed.

Location: This role covers Norwich, Wymondham and Marsham - travel to other areas throughout the East region may be required.

Working hours: 40hpw, Monday - Friday, 08:00-17:00 Friday 08:00-14:30

Contract: Permanent + Company Van

What You’ll Be Doing

• carrying out carpentry repairs and maintenance across occupied and void properties

• installing and repairing doors, windows, flooring, tiling, and associated fixtures

• undertaking basic painting and decorating tasks

• completing damp and mould treatment, void clearances, and flood repairs

• using schedules of rates to assess jobs, produce estimates, and complete work efficiently

• ensuring all work is completed safely, to high standards, and ‘right first time’

• identifying and arranging asbestos removal where required

• using a company vehicle and tools to complete daily tasks

• delivering excellent customer service

• responding to and escalating safeguarding or emergency situations where appropriate

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• full Trade Apprenticeship , NVQ Level 2 , or equivalent experience in carpentry

• proven experience in repairs and maintenance within a similar environment

• strong practical skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively

• good knowledge of materials, tools, and estimating job requirements

• excellent customer service and communication skills

• problem-solving and decision-making ability

• basic IT skills (e.g. Outlook, Teams, and digital work scheduling systems)

• full UK driving licence

• willingness to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota , including public holidays
