The role

We're working with a highly regarded, technology-driven organisation in the financial sector that is looking to add a talented C++ Engineer to its London-based engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a deeply technical environment, working alongside exceptional engineers on the development of high-performance, large-scale systems.

You'll play a key role in building next-generation platforms where performance, scalability, and reliability are at the heart of everything. The position offers genuine ownership, with opportunities to influence system architecture, technical direction, and engineering best practices.

Responsibilities 

• Designing and developing high-performance applications using C++, with Python used where appropriate.
• Building, maintaining, and integrating microservices within a distributed systems architecture.
• Developing platforms that process large volumes of data with demanding low-latency and high-throughput requirements.
• Collaborating closely with engineers and key stakeholders to deliver scalable, resilient software solutions.
• Contributing throughout the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation through to deployment.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience developing software in C++, with some exposure to Python.
• Experience building or integrating RESTful APIs within microservice-based architectures.
• A background working on large-scale, high-performance, or distributed systems.
• Experience within financial services is advantageous but not essential.
• A strong academic background, ideally with a degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline.
