Learning Delivery Assistant

DurhamLearn works with local communities, a range of voluntary organisations, employers and public health to deliver the training people need to help change their lives for the better. We ensure that provision is local and accessible, with training delivered in more than 100 venues across Durham County. Courses include a broad range of opportunities for personal development, support for health and well-being and the chance to gain skills and qualifications for further education and employment. In June 2023, our provision was graded as ‘Good’ by Ofsted. WHAT IS INVOLVED?
We are looking to recruit a fixed term (31 July 2027) 30hrspw, TTO+2wks Learning Delivery Assistant to join our SEND Team. Under the direction of the SEND PL, the successful applicant will support our learners with EHCPs on the Supported Employment Pathway, where they develop their employment and independence skills. The role will consist of in-class support, support to learn independent travel skills, work experience support and some pastoral /wellbeing support. The post holder will contribute towards the delivery of a high-quality learning and skills experience, through collaborative working with tutors, our Employment Officer and Job Coach Assistants. WHAT WILL I NEED?
Ideally applicants will have experience of working in a post 16 education environment or experience of working with 14yrs+ learners in a support-type position; candidates must have knowledge of ALS/ SEND / LLDD / SEMH practices and techniques. Required qualifications: Level 3 qualification in Specialist Support in Teaching and Learning / CACHE Teaching Assistant / or equivalent (including teaching qualifications); must have Level 2 in English and maths Functional Skills or equivalent qualifications e.g. GCSEs. Please refer to the attached person specification for the full criteria. You may also be required to work at any location in County Durham to undertake the duties of the role. To note: a large part of this role will be to support young people with travel training and work experience placements, therefore confidence and ability to travel using public transport is essential.
