We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative English Teacher to join a high-energy department in Bradford . We are looking for an educator who can navigate the complexities of the English curriculum while fostering a genuine love for the written and spoken word in an urban setting.

Core Responsibilities

• Curriculum Delivery: Planning and delivering high-quality, inclusive lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 , with the potential to teach A-Level English Literature or Language for the right candidate.

• Literacy Advocacy: Implementing targeted strategies to improve reading ages and writing fluency, ensuring that English serves as a gateway to success across all other subjects.

• Examination Preparation: Guiding Year 11 students through the rigours of GCSE English Language and Literature (AQA, Edexcel, or Eduqas) , using data-driven interventions to maximise progress.

• Creative Pedagogy: Using a variety of teaching methods—from Socratic seminars and live modelling to digital storytelling—to engage students of all abilities, including those with EAL (English as an Additional Language).

• Pastoral Leadership: Serving as a dedicated Form Tutor, providing a supportive start to the day and monitoring the academic and social wellbeing of a specific group of students.

• Extracurricular Enrichment: Contributing to the wider life of the school through book clubs, debating societies, creative writing workshops, or theatre trips.

Candidate Profile
