Core Responsibilities

• Pedagogical Excellence: Planning and delivering high-impact, evidence-based lessons across KS3 and KS4 (Combined & Triple Science) , with a significant focus on A-Level Physics (AQA or OCR).

• Practical Mastery: Leading sophisticated laboratory work—including radioactivity, electromagnetism, and wave interference—ensuring students master the "Required Practicals" and uncertainty analysis with precision.

• Theoretical Depth: Guiding students through the nuances of quantum phenomena, Newtonian mechanics, thermal physics, and the fascinating world of fields and their applications.

• Curriculum Innovation: Integrating Derby’s local engineering excellence—from jet engine thermodynamics to rail technology—into the schemes of work to demonstrate the real-world impact of the subject.

• Exam Mastery: Mentoring examination cohorts to excel in high-tariff evaluative questions, focusing on the application of physical principles to unfamiliar contexts and the command of mathematical modelling.

• STEM Advocacy: Leading extracurricular initiatives such as the British Physics Olympiad , astronomy clubs, and coordinating partnerships with regional industrial hubs and the University of Derby.
