We are seeking to appoint an exceptional and ambitious leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Assistant Headteacher: Behaviour, Attitudes and Attendance . This is a pivotal whole-school leadership role; you will be responsible for driving excellence in behaviour, attendance, student culture and pastoral provision, ensuring that every young person is supported to achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for the Wilmslow Way and our PRIDE values , promoting a culture of high expectations, positive relationships and consistently applied systems. They will play a key role in shaping an inclusive environment where all students can thrive academically, socially and personally. Leading the school's attendance strategy, behaviour systems and student services provision, they will ensure that every student has full access to learning and the support needed to succeed.

Working closely with the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher (Behaviour and Attitudes) and the wider leadership team, the postholder will help secure outstanding outcomes for students and ensure the school continues to meet and exceed the expectations of the Education Inspection Framework.

Wilmslow High School is a large, high-achieving comprehensive school at the heart of its community. We are proud to serve families in Wilmslow and the surrounding area and are unwavering in our commitment to ensuring that every young person, regardless of their starting point or individual needs, thrives both academically and personally.

Our strong culture of inclusion was recognised during our 2024 Ofsted inspection, which highlighted the high-quality support provided for pupils with additional needs and recognised the positive, nurturing environment in which they are valued, supported and enabled to succeed.

If you share our commitment to excellence, are driven by evidence-informed practice, and have the vision, resilience and determination to make a lasting difference to the lives of young people, we would be delighted to receive your application.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to respect this commitment. A consideration of the person’s suitability to work alongside children is part of the selection process.

If invited for interview, you will be:
  • asked to complete a self-declaration form answering questions in relation to any criminal record or other information that would make them unsuitable to work with children.

  • subject to an online search. This is to help identify any incidents or issues that have happened, and are publicly available online, which we may wish to explore at interview.

If successful, you will be subject to:
  • an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

  • pre-employment checks which will include References, Health, Right to Work in UK, DBS and a Declaration that neither they nor anyone who lives in the same household is a disqualified person under the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2009.

Current or previous employers will be contacted and information requested will include:
  • disciplinary offences relating to children, including any for which the penalty is ‘time expired’.

  • whether the applicant has been the subject of any child protection concerns.
