Academics Ltd is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support learning across Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2. This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring teacher, recent graduate or experienced Teaching Assistant to gain valuable experience within a mainstream primary school and develop their knowledge of the National Curriculum.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the wider school team to support children's learning, development and wellbeing.

You will help create a positive and engaging classroom environment where children feel confident, supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. You will have the opportunity to work across a range of subjects and support pupils with different learning needs, making every day varied and rewarding.

This role would be particularly well suited to someone considering a career in teaching or education, as it provides valuable classroom experience and the opportunity to work alongside experienced education professionals.

Key Responsibilities

* Support teachers in delivering engaging and well-planned lessons across the curriculum.
* Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils where required.
* Support children's learning across core subjects including Maths and English.
* Assist with foundation subjects such as Geography, PE and other areas of the curriculum.
* Help create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
* Encourage children to develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.
* Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils and provide appropriate emotional and pastoral support.
* Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, behavioural needs and learning difficulties.
* Assist with classroom organisation, preparation and general learning activities.
* Work collaboratively with teachers and other members of the school team.
* Encourage positive behaviour and support the school's behaviour management strategies.
* Contribute to the wider life of the school and promote a safe, welcoming learning environment.
* Ensure the safety, welfare and wellbeing of all pupils at all times.
* Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain high standards of professional conduct.

Key Requirements

* The ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
* Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
