It takes a special type of person to dedicate their career to supporting others. Your patience, empathy and caring nature would make you the ideal person to join us.
If you feel you are this type of person, then you are who we are looking for. You need to be willing to learn and share experiences, skills and knowledge whilst also putting children and young people at the centre of your role.
As a Residential Childcare Officer, you will play an essential part in providing direct care and effective support to young people in our short break home to enable them to achieve positive outcomes in line with their childcare personal plan. Every day is different, and you will face new challenges, we need staff members with a can-do attitude, that are willing to go above and beyond for the young people in their care. We need our team to help recognise and promote young people’s individuality, uniqueness and diverse needs whilst providing a nurturing and positive environment.
As a Waking Night Officer you will be awake on duty at all times throughout the night to monitor and to respond to young people’s individual needs and the requirements/instruction of on-call Managers. You need to have the ability to communicate effectively with a range of out of hours services as and when required. You will be required to take part in handovers at the beginning and end of the shift, carrying out any tasks as requested and reporting any observations or incidents to the incoming staff of which they need to be aware.
