Job summary
The post holder will provide senior managerial leadership and accountability for the delivery of safe, high-quality care within an adult acute mental health ward for older persons. The post holder is responsible for overseeing standards, patient safety, financial management, staff management and performance. The post involves managerially leading the ward team, managing staff and ward issues, promoting effective governance and driving continuous quality and safety improvements. The post holder will act as a visible ward manager, role model best practice, support staff well-being and development and contribute to service developments to improve outcomes for service users and carers. The post holder will ensure everyone, including staff, patients and visitors, has their right to be treated with respect and have their values and beliefs maintained and that they treated in such a way that maintains their privacy and dignity. Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide professional, managerial and robust clinical leadership to a specified ward area. The post holder is responsible for promoting and assuring robust risk assessment and management processes. The post holder will provide financial management within the constraints of the identified budget, as directed by the Modern Matron. The post holder will actively support and participate in the integration of a whole system approach with multi-disciplinary working at all times. The post holder will perform delegated duties on behalf of the Modern Matron in their absence. The post holder will ensure everyone, including staff, patients and visitors, has their right to be treated with respect and have their values and beliefs maintained and that they treated in such a way that maintains their privacy and dignity.
