Studio B is a fast-growing creative studio with a global audience of more than 25 million followers and over 15 billion views. We create high-impact digital content for some of the world’s biggest brands, blending social-first storytelling, production craft and VFX.
We have an incredible roster of world-class creatives, and we are now looking for a hands-on, highly creative Art Assistant to help bring our ideas to life.
Working closely with our Director, Junior Set Designer and wider production team, you will help own the visual execution of our projects - from early concepts and mock-ups through to prop making, set dressing and the final shoot.
This is not a role for someone who wants to sit on the sidelines. You will be involved throughout the full creative process, helping turn ambitious ideas into practical, visually exciting realities.
Where You’ll Make an Impact
Work closely with our Director and Junior Set Designer to develop and execute the overall visual direction of each project.
Create visual mock-ups, references, moodboards and practical tests that help the team understand how an idea will look and work before production begins.
Design, build, adapt and finish props, set pieces and practical elements for social-first videos, branded content and larger-scale productions.
Attend creative development sessions, pre-production meetings, technical recces and production planning calls, contributing from a visual and practical perspective.
Research and source props, materials, furniture, costumes and set-dressing elements, balancing creative ambition with budgets and timelines.
Help plan how visual concepts will be achieved practically, identifying potential challenges and proposing creative solutions before the shoot.
Prepare, organise and maintain props, materials and art department equipment ahead of production.
Work closely with our Junior Set Designer to monitor, organise and update our growing prop inventory.
Organise and maintain the workshop and studio floor to a high standard, monitoring stock levels of materials, tools, equipment and props.
Support set builds, dressing and resets, ensuring every frame feels considered and visually consistent.
Work closely with producers, camera teams, VFX artists and other departments to make sure practical and digital elements work together seamlessly.
Be present on shoots to manage props and visual details, make quick adjustments and help solve unexpected creative challenges.
Take ownership of the visual language of a project, ensuring approved designs, references and details are carried through from pre-production to the final shoot.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
You are highly creative, visually minded and excited by the process of turning an idea into something physical.
You are practical and hands-on, with experience making, adapting, painting or styling props, sets or creative installations.
You have a strong eye for design, colour, composition, texture and detail.
You enjoy experimenting with different materials and are confident in learning new techniques to achieve the right result.
You are organised enough to manage multiple props, purchases, references and deadlines without losing sight of the bigger creative vision.
You are comfortable contributing ideas while also taking direction and responding constructively to feedback.
You can think quickly and calmly when something changes, breaks or does not work as expected.
You understand that our content is designed for social platforms and can consider how props, sets and visual ideas will read within a fast-moving frame.
You are collaborative, proactive and happy to get stuck into whatever is needed to make a project look its best.
What You’ll Need
A portfolio or examples showing that you can create props, set pieces or other practical visual work. This could come from professional projects, university, personal projects, theatre, events, cosplay or simply things you have made independently.
Hands-on experience working with materials, tools and creative techniques such as painting, sculpting, model making, fabrication, crafting or set dressing.
The ability to create clear visual references, moodboards or mock-ups that communicate how an idea could look.
A basic understanding of how creative ideas can be developed into practical, shoot-ready builds.
Strong organisation and communication skills, with the ability to manage materials, purchases, deadlines and changing production requirements.
Confidence using design software to create mock-ups and presentations would be beneficial. Experience with tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, CAD, 3D Printers or similar platforms is welcome but not essential.
A proactive, problem-solving attitude and the flexibility to work across our studio, workshop, external locations and shoot environments depending on the project.
Applicants must have a full, valid driving licence.
Why Studio B?
We are not your average agency. At Studio B, we believe that doing great work and having a great time are not mutually exclusive. If you are ready to bring ambitious ideas to life alongside a team that has your back, you are in the right place.
The Work & Impact
You will work on visually ambitious content seen by millions of people around the world.
No two projects will look the same. One week, you could be building an oversized prop for a comedy video; the next, you could be dressing an interrogation room, creating a miniature world or helping transform a studio into an entirely new environment.
You will be involved from the earliest creative conversations, giving you the opportunity to shape how ideas develop rather than simply receiving instructions at the end of the process.
Your work will directly influence what appears on screen, with real ownership over the visual details that make our content memorable.
The Growth & Support
Learn directly from our Director while working closely alongside our Junior Set Designer. Together, you will help develop the visual direction of projects and bring ideas to life through mock-ups, prop making, set design, practical builds and on-set execution.
You will also collaborate with industry-leading creators, VFX artists, producers and production specialists in a highly creative environment.
Develop your experience across visual development, prop making, set dressing, production planning and on-set art direction, with support from both our Director and Junior Set Designer.
As your skills and confidence grow, you will take on greater ownership of projects and play an important role in shaping the future of our in-house art department.
1-to-1 Wellbeing & Performance Coaching
Mindset matters. Access ongoing professional coaching designed to help you manage pressure, build resilience and perform at your best.
We have ditched the corporate fluff. Expect a high-energy, supportive environment where people genuinely care about how you feel at work.
The Perks & Community
Offsites & Creative Away Days
Step away from the workshop. We host regular team offsites, creative brainstorming sessions and social days to keep the team aligned and inspired.
Celebrating Every Win
From completing a difficult build to wrapping a major production, we always make time to pause, recognise great work and celebrate what we achieve together.
A Lively, Fun-First Office
Work should not feel like a chore. We have built a vibrant office and studio environment filled with people who are passionate about what they do.
Before You Get Started, a Quick Heads-Up!
At Studio B, we actively use AI tools to move faster, explore ideas and work smarter, and we are excited about candidates who do the same.
However, for this application, we would love to hear your own voice and thinking. Please avoid using AI to generate your answers, as applications that appear heavily AI-generated may not be progressed.
