- £35,000 plus annual bonus and shift allowance for late shift (every other week) Hours alternate weeks 37.5 hours: 6.00am 2.00pm Mon Thus, 6.00am 1.00pm Friday 2.00pm 10.00pm Mon Thurs, 1.00pm 8.00pm Friday Job Purpose As a 3-Axis CNC Programmer, Setter & Operator within the Fabrication Team, you will be responsible for the manufacture of precision components to exacting customer specifications. You will program, set and operate CNC milling machinery to mill, shape and bevel components, working to micron level tolerances and maintaining the highest standards of quality, cleanliness and workmanship. The role will involve machining delicate materials, verifying component dimensions using CMM and other inspection equipment, and carrying out cleaning and surface inspection to applicable standards. You will be expected to take ownership of your work from process preparation and machine setup through to final inspection, ensuring components meet drawing, process and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Programme, set and operate 3-axis CNC milling machinery to manufacture precision components. Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and process documentation accurately. Work consistently to micron-level dimensional tolerances and surface requirements. Set machines accurately and verify offsets and tooling prior to production. Produce first off components and carry out in-process checks to ensure conformity. Inspect finished components using CMM and appropriate precision measurement equipment. Clean components using approved processes while maintaining strict cleanliness requirements. Carry out visual and surface inspections in accordance with applicable standards. Identify defects, damage, contamination, scratches, chips or other non-conformances and escalate where appropriate. Complete process sheets, inspection records and other production documentation accurately. Maintain full product traceability throughout the manufacturing process. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions and approved manufacturing processes. Understand and adhere to TPMs and contribute to maintaining equipment in good working condition. Maintain a clean, organised and controlled working environment appropriate for the manufacture of components. Handle delicate and high value materials and components with care at all stages of manufacture and inspection. Work effectively both independently and as part of a wider fabrication and production team. Manage workload and priorities effectively to meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements. Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, efficiency, quality and repeatability. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the fabrication area. Report equipment issues, tooling problems, quality concerns and process abnormalities promptly. Comply with all company health & safety, quality and environmental procedures.
