Stock Controller/ Sales Assistant

In this role you will work as part of our internal office team.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible for predominantly purchasing stock for the branch
Take overall responsibility for stock control of the branch
Ensure that the right goods are in stock to satisfy customer demand
Ensure all stock has the right location
Make sure any problems/queries are dealt with efficiently to reduce issues with goods received.
Managing aged stock/ returns and damaged stock.
Operate our trade sales counter, providing excellent customer service
Qualifications and Skills
Previous experience of effective buying and stock control is essential.
Builders merchant industry experience would be advantageous
Excellent communication skills
Strong computer literacy – especially with Excel spreadsheets
High level of numeracy
Logical, methodical and accurate approach to work
Ability to liaise and negotiate stock and prices with suppliers with confidence and product knowledge
