We are looking for a passionate, skilled professional from a Nursing, Social Work (with additional mental health training), or Occupational Therapy background.

Main duties of the job
In this role, you will provide strong operational leadership to a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care to those with acute mental health needs and their families. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day service delivery, managing performance, and ensuring that care is responsive, evidence-based, and aligned with national and local standards.

You will lead, support, and develop a diverse team of practitioners, fostering a positive and inclusive culture that promotes staff wellbeing, continuous learning, and professional development. This includes supervising staff, managing caseloads, and ensuring effective risk management and safeguarding practices are embedded across the service.

This role will monitor and report on key performance indicators, support quality assurance processes, and drive improvements to enhance patient outcomes and experience. Your leadership will ensure that the service remains responsive to the needs of the local population while maintaining compliance with regulatory and organisational requirements.

Qualifications
Essential

• RMN, RLDN, Dip SW or Dip OT or equivalent, or HCPC registered

Desirable

• Ongoing professional development working towards degree level
• Higher degree or post graduate certificate in area of clinical / therapeutic practice
• Post-basic teaching qualification
• ILM certificate in management or equivalent

Experience
Essential

• Able to demonstrate experience at a senior clinical level including staff management / supervision experience
• Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
• Evidence of providing leadership in a Mental Health care environment including service development

Skills
Essential

• Competent and effective treatment skills
• Care planning skills
• Competent assessment skills
• Effective analytical and decision-making skills.

Knowledge
Essential

• Knowledge of medication and the monitoring of its effects
• Build on/develop further knowledge of psychosocial interventions
• Build on/develop further specialist knowledge of health promotion and recovery
• An understanding of the policies and guidelines both local and national e.g. National Institute for Clinical Excellence guidelines.

Essential

• Ability to travel.
