We're looking for an experienced Preconstruction Manager to join our Regional Civils team based in Warrington . This is an exciting opportunity to lead the preconstruction phase of major civil engineering projects, working collaboratively with clients, designers, and delivery teams to develop winning solutions that are safe, innovative, sustainable, and commercially robust.
What you'll be doing
As a Preconstruction Manager you will:
- Lead the preconstruction process from opportunity identification through to contract award.
- Manage multidisciplinary bid and preconstruction teams to develop high-quality, compliant submissions.
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
- Drive value engineering, buildability, innovation, and sustainable solutions throughout the bid process.
- Coordinate design development, estimating, planning, risk management, and commercial input.
- Ensure governance requirements are met while maintaining programme milestones.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following
- Experience in preconstruction, bid management, or project management within the civil engineering sector.
- A strong understanding of infrastructure delivery, including highways, structures, public realm, utilities, or general civil engineering projects.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance risk, opportunity, and client expectations.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex tender submissions.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and collaborative procurement routes.
- A relevant degree or professional qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (preferred).
