Uppingham School is looking for reliable and conscientious Exam Invigilators to help ensure the smooth and secure running of examinations across the school.
Working as part of the examinations team, you will support the Exams Officer, Assistant Exams Officer and Senior Exam Invigilators in delivering exams in line with awarding body and JCQ requirements. Your responsibilities will include preparing exam rooms, admitting and seating candidates, distributing papers and materials, supervising pupils throughout examinations, responding appropriately to queries or incidents, and ensuring scripts are collected and returned securely.
This is an important role requiring a calm, professional and attentive approach. You will need excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to remain composed under pressure. You should be organised, punctual and comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Previous experience of invigilation, education, administration or working with young people would be advantageous, although not essential.
You will also need to be flexible, as working hours will vary according to the examination timetable and may occasionally include evenings or work at short notice. Training will be provided, including for additional duties such as supporting candidates with access arrangements where required.
