Cover Supervisor - Secondary School | Hackney

We are currently recruiting confident, adaptable, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Hackney. These positions involve supporting students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, ensuring continuity of learning during teacher absences.
These opportunities are particularly well suited to individuals with previous school-based experience, including those with QTS, ECT status, or aspirations of progressing into teaching and wider education roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of subject areas
- Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
- Support students in remaining focused, engaged, and on task
- Work across KS3 and KS4 classes within different departments
- Collaborate effectively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and senior leaders
- Provide additional classroom and intervention support where required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working within a secondary school environment
- Confidence leading classes and managing behaviour effectively
- QTS or ECT status is desirable, but not essential
- A proactive, resilient, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- A good understanding of safeguarding and inclusive educational practice
