This role will play a critical role in driving the success of our battery storage trading operations across wholesale markets, BM, and ancillary service markets. You will manage the trading and optimisation of the existing UK Habitat asset portfolio working as part of a 24/7 shift trading team based on-site in our Oxford office.Your responsibilities will include:Trading, optimisation and dispatch inc. AS biddingOptimizing physical and financial trading positions within day-ahead and intraday power markets with a key focus on battery storage asset optimisationUndertake fundamental market analysis to make profitable trading decisions, and conduct competitor analysis to develop market leading optimisation strategiesSupport tool/product development in order to assist with our objective of developing a fully automated optimisation and trading platformCollaborate with cross-functional teams including risk management, data science, software, analysis and operations to develop and refine trading strategiesEnsure all trade execution and trading strategy is compliant with relevant industry regulationLive OperationsCoordinate with Scheduling & Operations team to ensure traded volume and procured contracts optimally reflect asset availabilityRequirementsRequired skills and experience:Expert understanding of electricity markets in Great Britain, including wholesale, BM, and ancillary services2+ year experience in a short-term power trading role managing dispatch of physical assets and executing trading strategiesA track record of delivering successful trading strategies and consistent performanceIndepth knowledge of the drivers of spot power pricesA positive ‘can-do’ attitude and good judgement in high pressure, high value situationsAdaptability to work in a dynamic, fast-pasced trading environmentCuriosity and an entrepreneurial approach to strategy development‘Nice to have’ skills and experience:Working knowledge of Excel.
