SAP FI Lead Consultant (SAP Public Sector )

Next Ventures are currently executing a search for a senior, hands-on SAP Finance (FI) specialist with indepth public sector experience from a business consultancy background :

• SAP FI functional leadership and solution delivery
• Security-sensitive and compliance-driven environments
• Demonstrate expertise in C-Suite stakeholder engagement and management, 
• Responsibilty for design and delivery of SAP Financial solution.

Contract Details

• Duration: 12-month initial contract
• Programme Length: Up to 3 years
• Location: UK / EU-based project (Must be UK or EU passport holder).  Can be based anywhere in the UK or EU.
• Working Model: Remote, hybrid, or on-site depending on security requirements.
• Travel: Approximately once per month within Europe
• Start Date: ASAP

Eligibility Requirements

• EU or UK passport holder
• Eligible for security clearance
• Existing  SC or  DV clearance is advantageous

Core Experience Required

• SAP FI Lead / Senior SAP FI Consultant experience
• SAP S/4HANA implementation experience
• Defence & Security or Public sector experience
• Experience working on large public-sector or defence transformation programmes
• Strong stakeholder management across finance, IT, and programme leadership

Highly Desirable

• SAP & Public Sector experience
• Or Knowledge of:
  • NATO standards
  • Ministry of Defence (MoD) frameworks
  • Defence procurement and governance processes
• Consultancy background
• Professional finance/accountancy background.

Likely Responsibilities

• Lead SAP FI workstreams within a defence programme
• Design and govern finance processes in S/4HANA
• Ensure compliance with defence security and audit requirements
• Coordinate with business stakeholders, finance teams, and technical SAP teams
• Support programme governance, testing, deployment, and operational readiness

Market Assessment
This is a niche role. Candidates are likely to be:

• Senior SAP FI Leads
• SAP Finance Architects
• Former Big 4 or major consulting professionals with public-sector SAP experience

The strongest profiles will have a combination of  SAP FI leadership, defence-sector exposure, and active or obtainable SC/DV clearance .
