Main duties of the job

• Provide thorough medical consultations and assessments to diagnose medical conditions.
• Develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
• Administer medications and monitor patients responses to treatments.
• Provide ongoing management of chronic illness and preventative care.
• Offer advice on health maintenance and lifestyle modifications.
• Maintain accurate and up to date patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with specialists and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
• Utilise medical imaging techniques as necessary for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Supervise and support trainee GP's and medical students.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.

A Practice Team made up of 5 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs and support staff comprising of Practice Nurses, Health Care Support Worker, First Contact Physiotherapist, Practice Manager, HR Manager, Reception and Administration Staff.

GMS practice with list size of 10,200 patients.

GP led Telephone Triage System and EMIS Clinical System.

No OOH or Extended Hours.

Training Practice, actively supporting the development of GP Trainees and Medical Students.

Numerous DES / LES offered.

Overview

Duties to include but not limited to:

• Provide thorough medical consultations with patients of all ages
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Prescribe appropriate medications or treatments
• Order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests
• Refer patients to specialists or other healthcare providers where appropriate
• Provide ongoing management of chronic illness and preventative care
• Develop and implement treatment care plans for individual patient needs
• Offer advice on lifestyle changes and health maintenance
• Supervise and support trainee GPs and medical students
• Commitment to continuous professional development

Person Specification
Experience
Essential

• Experience working in a GP Practice setting / fast paced environment
• Meeting deadlines and prioritising

Desirable

• Special interest in particular health care

Qualifications
Essential

• Medical Degree from an accredited institution and valid medical licence to practice as a General Practitioner.
• Fully registered with the General Medical Council and be on the list established in accordance with the provisions of the National Health Service (Performers List) Regulations 2004 or such successor Regulations as may, from time to time be appropriate to your employment.

Desirable

• Minor Surgery
