Premises Manager - Manchester
A well-established and forward-thinking secondary school in Manchester is seeking an experienced and proactive Premises Manager to oversee the management, maintenance, and development of the school’s facilities. This is a full-time, permanent leadership support role.
About the School

The Premises Manager is a key member of the support staff team, responsible for ensuring the site is safe, secure, and operational to support teaching, learning, and extracurricular activities.
Role Responsibilities
Lead and manage the premises team, including caretakers and site staff.
Oversee maintenance, repairs, and ongoing development of school buildings and grounds.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including fire safety, risk assessments, and statutory checks.
Manage site security systems, including alarms, access control, and CCTV.
Supervise contractors and manage service agreements.
Plan and manage premises budgets and expenditure.
Ensure facilities are prepared for events, lettings, and exams.
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience in premises, facilities, or estates management (school experience preferred).
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and statutory compliance.
Experience managing staff and coordinating contractors.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to respond effectively to operational demands.
Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children.
