Hours Required: Monday to Friday, approximately 1:00/2:00 pm to 7:00 pm (approximately 25-30 hours per week). Flexibility to increase hours during the school holidays would be appreciated and agreed in advance.

Overview

A professional family based in Walton-on-Thames are looking to appoint an experienced Housekeeper Nanny to support the smooth running of their home and provide after-school support for their 12-year-old son.

This is a varied role combining housekeeping with after-school childcare. During term time, the earlier part of each afternoon will be spent keeping on top of the household before collecting and supporting the family's independent 12-year-old after school. The family also have a much-loved cat, so they are looking for someone who is happy to have pets as part of the household. Their eldest son attends boarding school during term time and is home during the school holidays.

The family are looking for someone with a calm personality who is kind, organised and enjoys engaging with their 12-year-old son. They would love to find someone who communicates openly, works proactively and is happy to become a trusted part of their family.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping

• Clean and care for the home to a high standard.
• Family laundry, including ironing and putting clothes away.
• Family grocery shopping.
• Prepare meals for the 12-year-old.
• Provide basic day-to-day care for the family's cat, helping to ensure its wellbeing while the family are at work.
• Help keep the household organised and running smoothly.

Childcare

• Collect and supervise the family's 12-year-old son after school.
• Provide a calm, reassuring adult presence during the afternoon and early evening.
• Transport the children to clubs, activities and appointments when required.
• Provide additional support during the school holidays, including transporting both children to activities if required.

Household Support

• Supervise the gardener and tradespeople when required.
• Receive deliveries and post.
• Run ad hoc household errands as needed.
• Assist with general day-to-day household organisation.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience working as a Housekeeper Nanny or in a similar private household role.
• A calm, kind and caring approach.
• Someone who enjoys engaging with older children and can provide a reassuring adult presence.
• Excellent housekeeping and organisational skills.
• A proactive approach with the ability to use initiative.
• Open and honest communication.
• A full driving licence.
• A valid Paediatric First Aid certificate.
