SEN Learning Support Assistant Needed!

We're supporting a large, well-established secondary school in Brent seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis, 5 days per week. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them access education, develop confidence and achieve their full potential within a supportive secondary school environment. We're particularly interested in candidates with experience supporting young people with autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), or other additional learning needs, whether gained in schools, youth settings, care environments or similar roles. What you'll be doing: Supporting students with SEN on a 1:1 basis, in small groups and within mainstream lessonsAdapting support strategies to meet individual learning and emotional needsWorking closely with the school's SEND team, teachers and pastoral staffPromoting independence, confidence and engagement in learningSupporting students with emotional regulation, organisation and social skillsEncouraging positive behaviour and helping students overcome barriers to learningBuilding strong relationships that enable students to thrive both academically and personally What we're looking for: Previous experience supporting children or young people with SENExperience within schools, SEND settings, youth work, coaching, care or similar environments is highly desirableA genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needsPatience, empathy and strong relationship-building skillsA proactive and adaptable approach to supporting different learning needsExcellent communication and teamwork skillsAvailable to work full-time, 5 days per week Why work with Protocol Education?
