Music Teacher (ECT) - Secondary School - Ipswich
The Headteacher of this well-regarded secondary school in Ipswich is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Music Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join a supportive and creative Music department from January . Music is a valued subject within the school, with a strong focus on performance, creativity, and developing students’ confidence and enjoyment of music.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Music ECT looking to begin their teaching career in a school that prioritises structured mentoring, professional development, and staff wellbeing. The department is collaborative and experienced, with clear schemes of work and strong support for early career teachers.
You will teach Music across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging lessons that develop practical skills, musical understanding, and appreciation of a wide range of styles and genres.

A passionate and motivated trainee or newly qualified teacher
Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Music education
The ability to inspire confidence and participation in students
A reflective approach and willingness to develop practice
Good organisation and communication skills
The successful Music ECT will benefit from a structured ECT induction programme, mentoring from experienced Music staff, reduced timetable where appropriate, and access to targeted CPD.
