Computing Teacher (SEMH)

Willow Bank School is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and creative Teacher to join our friendly and committed team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive environment where professional development is encouraged, and every child is valued.

Our school is a day maintained special school for children with social, emotional and mental health needs in the borough of St Helens, Merseyside. We cater for 71 young people from Year 4 to Year 11. We are a highly inclusive and innovative establishment. We believe Willow Bank is a centre of best practice for behaviour management, pastoral care and teaching and learning.

We are seeking an SEMH teacher who has high expectations and is committed to helping pupils to become confident, secure and happy learners. We welcome applications from subject specialisms in ICT and Computing.. Experience in teaching at secondary level, with experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable. The ability to plan and deliver engaging sessions for mixed ability classes of approximately 8 pupils is essential.

The successful candidate will be expected to ensure that pupils’ special educational needs are being addressed in line with the pupil’s individual EHCP whilst having due regard for the school’s philosophy and policies.

Working with smaller class sizes, you will get to know each pupil well, have the capacity to fully personalise learning, and be encouraged to practice creativity in your pedagogical approaches to nurture our pupils’ natural curiosity.
