Job description

Our client, a global manufacturer of heavy machinery and equipment for construction, mining, energy and transportation industries are seeking Mechanical Fitters to join their expanding team based in Larne. Read and interpret complex prints and sketches in order to plan methods and sequence of assembly.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret complex prints and sketches in order to plan methods and sequence of assembly.
• Performs diverse functions such as assemblies, fitting, adjusting, altering of gensets, RAD's, fuel systems etc.
• Use a variety of power tools, hand tools and other equipment.
• Report malfunctions on equipment.
• Compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Compliance with the 5S programme and other business improvement initiatives.
• Display behaviour and conduct fitting with our Values in Action.
• Train other employees if and when required.
• Any other appropriate duties.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Experience as a Fitter (Formal Apprenticeship/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent relevant qualification).
• Previous fitter (assembly, fitting, adjusting, altering) experience in a lean manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Experience working to defined process times.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to work from heights and in an enclosed work area.
• A keen awareness and commitment to the highest standard of health and safety and quality.
• A reasonable level of computer literacy would be an advantage but not essential.
• Ability to work reasonable amounts of overtime and various shift patterns.

Further Information

Salary: £16.75 per hour up to £33.50 per hour. Work Time: Monday 7.30am - 5.45pm, Tuesday to Thursday 7.30am - 5.15pm. If required - Night shift 37.5 hrs p/w Monday 9.00pm - 7.15am, Tuesday to Thursday 9.00pm - 6.45am.
