Design & Technology Technician

• The main responsibility of the technician is to enable the teacher to function more effectively in the classrooms by providing materials and maintaining equipment and stock to a satisfactory standard.

• To assist in the organisation of the department to include:

• Assisting with preparation of materials and equipment for classes

• Assisting teachers and students during lessons in the execution of practical work

• ·         Checking machinery weekly, service and special clean as necessary in all materials areas

• ·         Supplying materials and equipment to pupils

• ·         Assisting with organisation of materials and classrooms

• ·         Maintaining and repairing all tools in main rooms and store rooms

• ·         Assisting with preparation and creation of teaching aids

• Assisting with Stock control

• To be familiar with all relevant health and safety data, and to implement requirements of the Department Health and Safety policy, as appropriate and report any hazards to the appropriate member of staff as per the Health and Safety at work act 1974

• ·         Assisting with displays to help maintain an effective learning environment

• Any other duties as may reasonably be required of you by your Line Manager or the Headteacher

To support the implementation of strategies designed to  close attainment gaps and secure strong progress for all groups of students.

• This may be reviewed at the end of the Academic year or earlier if necessary. In  addition, it may be amended at any time after consultation with you.
