Spread across 7 hospitals on 5 sites, including the Leeds Cancer Centre and Leeds Childrens Hospital, the Trust has an international reputation for excellence in specialist care, research, and academic training. We now have an exciting opportunity for a chaplain or pastoral care practitioner to join our diverse team of chaplains, honorary and bank chaplains, and volunteers. We provide care 7 days a week, and in emergency 24 hours a day, striving to support people from all faiths and beliefs, or world views. Why you should join our Team Chaplaincy and pastoral care services are acknowledged as a key part of the multi-disciplinary team across the Trust, delivering holistic care to patients, staff, students, and those important to them. We are looking for a new colleague to join the team who will have had experience of pastoral, spiritual and religious/belief care in the NHS, to be part of a faith and belief team providing holistic care for patients and staff and those important to them. What you will bring to the role This is an excellent opportunity to develop and gain more skills within a supportive team. We are looking for an an empathethic and compassionate individual, who has the ability to respect, value and affirm people regardless of their religion or belief, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or state of health or current needs. They will also be committed to working across faith and belief systems and demonstrate a willingness to pastorally care for people beyond personal faith or belief boundary You will also have previous Chaplaincy Experience; Approximately 1600 hours of professionally supervised practice as a designated chaplain or pastoral care practitioner. You will also be registered or be eligible to be registered by the Council of Professional Chaplains and Pastoral Carers. . You will eligible to be authorised by appropriate faith or belief group to practice as a Healthcare Chaplain, with a bachelors degree (or equivalent work or life experience) in a area related to the profession. If you have significant experience in pastoral, spiritual and religious/non-religious care in a healthcare setting; excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to work with and value diversity, proven track record of collaboration and empowerment we would love to hear from you.
