Are you an experienced, highly authoritative Safeguarding Manager or Independent Reviewing Officer seeking a prestigious Quality Assurance role in Greater Manchester?
Bury Council is currently seeking a skilled CP Chair / CLA IRO to provide independent leadership and quality assurance across Child Protection and Children Looked After (CLA) services. Offering a competitive pay rate of £40.00 per hour, this role is ideal for senior social care professionals passionate about driving high practice standards and advocating for positive child outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independent Chairing: Provide independent chairing for multi-agency Child Protection Conferences and statutory Children Looked After (CLA) Reviews across the borough.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Monitor statutory adherence to CP procedures and care planning frameworks, providing constructive challenge to drive high-quality service delivery.
- Multi-Agency Facilitation: Promote effective inter-agency working, information sharing, and communication across local authority teams, health, police, and education.
- Child Advocacy: Ensure the lived experience, voice, and rights of the child remain central to all care planning and decision-making processes.
What We Are Looking For:
- Professional Registration: Active registration with Social Work England (SWE).
- Essential Experience: Substantial post-qualifying experience in senior management, QA, CP Chairing, or IRO roles within statutory Children's Services.
- Legal Expertise: Expert knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004, IRO Handbook, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and statutory review regulations.
- Skills: Excellent dispute resolution, assertive negotiation, and clear decision-making capabilities under multi-agency scrutiny.
