Salary: £34,500 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 4:30pm
About the Company
Our client is one of the UK's leading manufacturers and distributors of desserts and speciality foods. Operating from their Manchester-based production site, they supply a wide range of fresh and frozen products to customers nationwide.
Role Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Bakery Line Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of a busy bakery production line. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing a team of up to 15 bakery operatives , ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and efficiency.
The successful candidate will be an effective people manager with previous experience in a food manufacturing or bakery production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of up to 15 bakery operatives .
- Ensure daily production plans and targets are achieved efficiently.
- Monitor product quality and ensure all products meet company specifications.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and housekeeping throughout the production area.
- Organise staffing levels and allocate work to maximise productivity.
- Support, coach, and develop team members to improve performance.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Work closely with the Production Manager to resolve production issues and continuously improve processes.
- Complete production paperwork and ensure accurate record keeping.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Line Manager, Team Leader, or Supervisor within a food manufacturing or bakery production environment.
- Proven experience managing teams of up to 15 bakery operatives .
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Flexibility to support the business when operational requirements demand.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 08:30am - 4:30pm
Salary & Benefits
- £34,500 per annum.
