Olga Gudynn International School (OGIS) is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and student-centred Teacher of Mathematics to join its growing Cambridge International team in Voluntari, in the Bucharest metropolitan area.

The successful candidate will teach Mathematics across Years 7–13, covering Cambridge Lower Secondary, Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International AS & A Level. The ability to teach Additional Mathematics and/or Further Mathematics would be an advantage.

This opportunity is open to qualified teachers from Romania and other EU Member States.

The role

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver engaging, challenging and well-structured Mathematics lessons

  • Prepare students effectively for Cambridge IGCSE and International AS & A Level examinations

  • Plan and adapt lessons to support, challenge and inspire students with different learning needs and levels of ability

  • Assess students regularly, monitor their progress and provide clear, constructive and meaningful feedback

  • Contribute to curriculum planning, assessment standardisation and the continued development of the Mathematics Department

  • Use digital technology effectively, including computers, interactive whiteboards and specialist Mathematics software

  • Support Mathematics enrichment activities, competitions and academic intervention programmes

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate professionally and effectively with parents

  • Promote and model OGIS's ICARE values

  • Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding, professional conduct and student wellbeing

Candidate profile

Essential requirements

  • A relevant university degree in Mathematics or a closely related field

  • A recognised teaching qualification

  • Proven experience teaching secondary Mathematics within Cambridge International programmes, the British curriculum or a British international school

  • Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics and Cambridge International AS & A Level Mathematics

  • Excellent spoken and written English

  • Strong classroom management, organisational and communication skills

  • Strong digital skills, experience using computers and interactive whiteboards, and familiarity with specialist software for teaching Mathematics

  • A student-centred approach and a genuine commitment to high academic standards

Desirable

  • Experience teaching Additional Mathematics and/or Further Mathematics

  • Experience contributing to curriculum development, assessment standardisation or departmental initiatives

  • Previous experience in an international or bilingual school environment

What OGIS offers

  • A net monthly salary paid in Romanian lei (RON), approximately equivalent to EUR 2,200–2,500, with the final amount determined according to qualifications, relevant experience and the overall interview assessment
