About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Work Senior Practitioner to join East Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership's Joint Learning Disability Team (JLDT). The post is based within Kirkintilloch Health & Care Centre, working as part of a well-established integrated health and social care team.
The Joint Learning Disability Team is a highly experienced multidisciplinary service providing specialist health and social care support to adults with learning disabilities across East Dunbartonshire. The service brings together social work, nursing, psychology, psychiatry, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and other specialist professionals to deliver coordinated, person-centred support
This post offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced social worker wishing to further develop their leadership and professional practice skills within a supportive and progressive environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Team Manager to support the day-to-day operation and management of the service, ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality social work support to adults with learning disabilities in our local communities.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
· Operate as a Senior Practitioner managing a complex caseload involving assessment, care management and intervention planning.
· Lead on complex assessments, risk assessment and risk management processes.
· Ensure effective person-centred care planning, review and intervention for individuals with learning disabilities and complex support needs.
· Provide professional leadership, guidance and practice development support to colleagues across the team.
· Act as a role model for excellent social work practice, demonstrating a high level of expertise and competence.
· Support the Team Manager with operational management and service delivery.
· Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, strategies and service improvements in line with HSCP priorities and responsibilities.
· Promote partnership working across health, social work, independent sector providers, advocacy organisations, families and carers.
· Support service developments aligned to national policy and local priorities including independent living, community inclusion and person-centred outcomes.

About You
We are looking for a motivated and experienced practitioner who can demonstrate:
Essential Requirements
· Professional qualification in Social Work (Degree, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent).
· Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC
· Significant experience of social work practice within adult social work services.
· Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.
· Knowledge and understanding of relevant social work legislation and policy frameworks.
· Experience of assessment, care management and risk management.
· Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
· Ability to inspire and support colleagues to achieve excellent outcomes.
· Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Requirements
· Experience of providing supervision, mentoring or practice leadership.
· Knowledge of Self-Directed Support legislation.
· Experience of Adult Support and Protection processes.
· Experience of multidisciplinary and integrated team working.

Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment. Successful candidates who withdraw their application after the check process has started will be invoiced for the cost of the check.
In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by the HR &OD Manager.
Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary.
The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
